Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Layer X platform at layerx3d.in, placing an order, or submitting a quote request, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our services. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Layer X (a precision manufacturing studio registered in Gujarat, India).

Service Description

Layer X provides precision additive manufacturing services including FDM, SLA, SLS, and metal 3D printing, post-processing, injection tooling, and contract manufacturing. Services are provided to businesses and individuals in India and internationally. Layer X reserves the right to refuse service to any entity at its sole discretion.

Catalogue products are sold directly through the platform. Custom manufacturing projects are initiated via quote requests and governed by a separate project agreement once a quote is accepted.

Orders and Payment

• Order confirmation — An order is confirmed only upon receipt of payment. Placing items in your cart does not constitute a reservation.
• Pricing — All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable GST unless otherwise stated. Prices may change without notice; the price at the time of order placement is binding.
• Payment methods — We accept UPI, credit/debit cards, net banking, and wallets via Razorpay. Payment must be completed in full at checkout.
• Invoice — A GST-compliant invoice will be emailed to you after successful payment.
• Failed transactions — If payment fails, no order is created. If funds are debited but the order is not confirmed, contact us within 48 hours and we will investigate and refund if applicable.
• GST — GSTIN can be provided at checkout for B2B purchases. GST at the prevailing rate (18% for manufacturing services) is included in the displayed price unless marked as exclusive.

Shipping and Delivery

• Lead times — Standard lead times are FDM 3–5 working days, SLA 5–7 days, and metal 10–14 days. Rush orders are available subject to capacity confirmation.
• Shipping partners — We ship via FedEx, DHL, Delhivery, and Shiprocket. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination.
• International shipping — DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) international shipping is available to 220+ countries. Customs duties and taxes are handled end-to-end on DDP shipments.
• Delivery estimates — Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Layer X is not liable for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs clearance, or events outside our control.
• Risk of loss — Risk transfers to you upon handover to the carrier. We recommend requesting insurance for high-value shipments.

Returns and Refunds

We stand behind our manufacturing quality. Because most Layer X products are made to order, return eligibility is defined by the reason for the return — not a blanket policy.

7-Day Return Window

You may request a return within 7 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date for any of the eligible reasons listed below. After 7 days from delivery, return requests cannot be accepted.

Eligible Return Reasons

• Manufacturing defect — Visible layer separation, warping, incomplete prints, surface finish below spec, or structural failure not caused by the design file.
• Wrong item received — The delivered product does not match the ordered SKU, material, or colour.
• Damaged in transit — Physical damage caused during shipping. Retain all original packaging and photographs for carrier claims.
• Wrong dimensions — Printed part dimensions deviate beyond ±0.5 mm from the design file specification (standard tolerance is ±0.3 mm for FDM; ±0.1 mm for SLA).
• Missing parts — One or more items from a multi-part order were not included in the shipment.

Non-Eligible Situations

• Customer design errors — If the uploaded file contained errors (non-watertight mesh, incorrect scale, self-intersections), no refund is due. We notify you of printability issues before production wherever possible.
• Change of mind — Made-to-order products cannot be returned simply because you changed your mind after production has begun.
• Custom projects in progress — Quote-based custom manufacturing orders cannot be cancelled or refunded once production has commenced.
• Normal colour/texture variation — Minor colour variation between renders and physical prints is inherent to the manufacturing process and is not grounds for return.

How to Submit a Return Request

• Log into your account at layerx3d.in/profile and navigate to your order history.
• Click “Request Return” on the relevant delivered order within 7 days of delivery.
• Select the reason, provide a description, and optionally upload photographs as evidence.
• For Cash on Delivery orders, provide your bank account details for the refund transfer.
• You will receive a confirmation email and a decision within 1–2 business days.

Refund Processing

• Online payments (UPI / card / net banking) — Approved refunds are reversed to the original payment method via Razorpay within 5–7 business days.
• Cash on Delivery orders — Refunds are transferred to the bank account provided at the time of the return request within 5–7 business days.
• Layer X reserves the right to offer a replacement reprint instead of a monetary refund for manufacturing defects, at our discretion.
• Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was on our part.

Intellectual Property and 3D File Rights

• Your files — You retain full ownership of all design files you upload. By uploading a file, you grant Layer X a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the file solely for the purpose of producing the ordered goods or generating a quote.
• Warranty of rights — By submitting a design file, you confirm that you own or are licensed to use the design, and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights. You indemnify Layer X against any third-party claims arising from your files.
• Prohibited content — We will not produce parts that are weapons or weapon components, counterfeits of branded products, or items that violate applicable law. Layer X reserves the right to refuse such orders without refund.
• Layer X content — All content on layerx3d.in — including text, images, product photography, code, and design — is owned by Layer X and may not be reproduced without written permission.

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your account with others. Notify us immediately at team@layerx3d.in if you suspect unauthorised access. Layer X is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised use of your account.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Layer X's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

Layer X is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The courts of Ahmedabad shall have exclusive jurisdiction for matters not subject to arbitration.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
